Description of Design
A joint profile is installed in the vertical junctions. This has three functions:
- Impact rain protection
- Prevention of the lateral shift of the plates
- A shock absorption effect, and hence a relatively soft attachment of the plates, as well as prevention of rattling in the wind.
The aluminium T-substructure is characterised by the fact that the necessary plate clip holes of the T profile have already been pre-punched in the factory at the required centre gaps. Thus, it remains only to adjust the individual profile lengths to the vertical spacing by means of a template; manual drilling at the building site is unnecessary.
Substructure, Insulation
The insulation for the substructure of aluminium is attached to the façade by means of approved pins in horizontal centre distance, and with the spacing necessary for structural stability.
Then, the insulation is applied on the previously cleaned wall surface. The insulation plates are attached in accordance with the manufacturer’s guidelines. Normally, highquality mineral fibre or rock wool fibre plates as per DIN 18 165, Part 1 are used. The selection of the insulation should be fitted to the building and its particular requirements in each individual case. The material thickness should correspond to the insulation regulation.
